One of the most definitive guides by the most definitive of communities...I don't own this (yet) but I'm pretty sure you should turn a blind eye to whatever the rand/dollar exchange rate is doing the moment you decide to pick one up. and you get free stuff on purchase so...hey always good.

2. Art of Modern Rock. The Poster Explosion.

I bought the first edition while travelling around London 3 years ago. It cost me my budget for most of the week and trying to fit it into my bag for the flight home was interesting. But oh how it has inspired. If you're interested in gig posters, this book probably contains most of them ever made.

Expect to pay between R554 and R600. Get more info here

3. Print Liberation. The Screen Printing Primer.

Reviewed as "the best introduction to screenprinting out there.." by Greenwich press. And they say on their site that - "...While screen printing can be unpredictable, with some helpful tips and troubleshooting from the Print Liberation, you’ll soon be able to print on the bottom of a ship in a hurricane. "

This will be the next book I buy.

4. Juxtapoz Poster Art Book.

Having known about the magazine for a couple years, it was a pretty thrilling moment (down there..if you know what I mean...ugh.) to learn juxtapoz had released this. 192 pages, hardcover, colour illustrations...real nice.

I'm in love with this...

Aaron Horkey’s take on Dead Man is a 7″ x 16.5″ giclee with letterpress filigree. This print was produced in the style of a period advertisement piece for the film and a nod to Mr. Blake’s own publishing efforts. It was printed on 505gsm Somerset Velvet 100% cotton acid-free paper by the fine folks at Graham Editions and Bieler Press. Signed and numbered by Horkey himself in an edition of 58.

Sonnenzimmer - does some pretty crazy minimal and abstract stuff...this one is by far a favorite from his collection of late.

Maurizio Santucci - also known as bombo! lives and works out of Italy. Not a lot of poster work to see from him really, but definitely feeling this poster for a jazz festival.

Amy Jo - simple, effective and awesome..Amy Jo's work is pretty consistent that way..looking forward to showing more of her work.

Invisible Creature (Don Clark) - Been following this man's work for a (very) long time. It has been pretty amazing to have witnessed his progression. amazing stuff. these sasquatch festival posters glow in the damn dark.

Had the pleasure of joining a 5 hour workshop with Toby this past Saturday over at his fittees shop in Tasman street. The man is a legend, and I'm very grateful for all the information he is passing on. Pics below of the day.
